Back to School
I don’t know about you, but I definitely have that ‘back to school’ feeling this week!
I’ve just returned from Edinburgh where I attended the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine conference and am fired up and raring to go. I can’t tell you how energising it was to reconnect with colleagues and learn about some incredible new research in our field.
Autumn is one of our busiest periods – it’s when the next Diploma in Integrative Healthcare cohort starts; we host an Integrative Healthcare Forum; our monthly Holistic Doctor Webinar series resumes; and we launch our new Wellbeing Programme. We also deliver formal training in medical homeopathy, accredited by the Faculty of Homeopathy.
Earlier this week, as we were reviewing our schedule, this quote resonated with the team:
“Education is the kindling of the flame, not the filling of the vessel” (Socrates)
The opportunity to learn never stops and we can all view it as the start of something amazing. New ideas sparked. New connections made. Even a renewed sense of purpose perhaps.
I was so privileged recently to be invited onto the Cancer Talk podcast with Robin Daly and Dr Penny Kechagioglou to talk about the development and progress of integrative oncology.
Attending the conference and taking part in the podcast are ways to connect with a wider network of people and share NCIM’s vision to create a new model of healthcare with you. It also helps me and the team to stay connected and to keep learning.
So, we’re poised with new notebooks for the coming Autumn…are you?
