Thrive 55: Building age-friendly workplaces

Creating Age-Friendly Workplaces: Supporting 55+ Employees to Thrive

Join us in driving cultural change, breaking down barriers, and ensuring older employees flourish in their roles.

This exciting new initiative, funded by St Monica’s Charitable Trust, aims to help organisations understand and remove barriers faced by 55+ employees by supporting an age-positive culture through co-produced workplace wellbeing actions plans.

Organisations get the opportunity to create their own wellbeing strategies that benefit the entire workforce.

What are the benefits for your organisation?

Investing in the wellbeing of employees in later life doesn’t just support the individuals involved —it strengthens the entire organisation. This initiative is designed to help your workforce remain engaged, motivated, and healthy, cultivating a culture where experience and wisdom are valued assets rather than overlooked resources. By supporting staff in navigating the physical and emotional shifts that come with ageing, you create a workplace that prioritises longevity, resilience, and productivity.

When employees feel supported in managing their health and wellbeing, they are more likely to remain active contributors, reducing absenteeism and enhancing overall workplace morale. This project also promotes inclusivity and diversity, demonstrating your commitment to a people-first approach that attracts and retains top talent. Organisations that invest in initiatives like ours, position themselves as leaders in workplace wellbeing, benefiting from improved employee satisfaction, stronger team dynamics, and a reputation for forward-thinking, compassionate leadership.

    Where will it take place?

Our Wellbeing Breakfast Information Session takes place at your workplace, giving Senior Leaders an engaging and insightful introduction to the initiative while outlining the next steps.

For the Co-Production and Strategy Day, we offer some flexibility. Choose a setting that works best for you—your workplace, a central Bristol location, or our tranquil space at NCIM’s location in Ham Green House in Pill, just outside Bristol.

To ensure a fully immersive experience, our Wellbeing Day is hosted at Ham Green House, where those involved in the project can unwind, recharge, and connect in a peaceful countryside setting.
