Dr Julie Geraghty

Julie Geraghty studied medicine at the University of Cape Town, graduating in 1984, following which she trained as a GP in England from 1986-93. She discovered homeopathy in 1993 as a GP Registrar and went on to work as an SHO at Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital for 2 years, gaining the MFHom in 1995. She has been in full time homeopathic practice ever since, first in Scotland and for the last 20 years in Bristol. She initially combined private practice with NHS Homeopathic outpatient clinics but since the NHS service was decommissioned has been working solely in private practice. Her special interests are treating chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic pain conditions.

Her main homeopathic teachers have been Jan Scholten, Massimo Mangialavori and Rajan Sankaran. Her understanding of kingdoms, family themes and miasms has greatly enhanced the accuracy of her prescribing. More recently Annette Sneevliet has been her main teacher, along with study of the Yakir Table of Plants to more accurately prescribe Plant remedies. Julie says, “the more I study and practise homoeopathy, the more I realise that every method is indeed just a method, and will not be helpful in every case. The skill is to be able to use different methods creatively, and to integrate knowledge from various sources.”

Julie has taught extensively in the UK and abroad over the last 25 years, giving seminars in Holland, Ireland, Portugal, Russia, Japan and South Africa. From 2015 -19 she was Medical Dean of the Faculty of Homeopathy and delivering high quality teaching in Homeopathy to health care professionals is one of her passions.
