What is Anthroposophical Medicine?
FREE NCIM Webinar
Join Dr Simon van Lieshout for this introductory webinar exploring the principles and practice of Anthroposophical Medicine — an integrative approach that combines conventional medical science with insights into the body, soul, and spirit. Drawing on the work of Rudolf Steiner and over a century of clinical application, Dr van Lieshout will discuss how this holistic framework supports the individualised care of patients and the cultivation of healing relationships between practitioner and patient. This session is ideal for anyone curious about the philosophical and practical foundations of Anthroposophical Medicine and its place within integrative healthcare today.
About the speaker
Dr Simon van Lieshout has recently joined NCIM as an Integrative Medicine Doctor. He undertook his medical studies at the University of Cambridge and the University of Edinburgh. In his latter years at university, he also studied and taught a number of complementary therapies. After he completed his training as a General Practitioner in 2011, he sought a way to combine medical science with his understanding of wellbeing and healing and went on to train in Anthroposophic Medicine, completing his diploma in 2017. Since 2012, he has worked alongside experienced Anthroposophic physicians practising integrative medicine in the Camphill Wellbeing Trust medical charity and has also practiced in a holistic manner as a GP within an NHS practice.
